Anonymous visit statistics

The site uses a small script of its own to see how the page is used. For each visit it records:

• that the page was opened, which sections were scrolled into view, and how far down the page you got
• which buttons and links were clicked (for example a download or a buy button)
• how long you spent on the page and in each section, and when you left
• the site you came from (the domain only), the campaign tag of the link if it had one (for example utm_source), your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), your browser language, and your country

It does not record your name, email address, IP address or any fingerprint of your device, and it sets no cookies. Each visit gets a random ID that exists only in your browser's memory while the page is open, so reloading the page counts as a new visit and nothing links one visit to another. Country is worked out by the statistics server from the connection and only the country is kept.

Visit records are deleted automatically after about 90 days.

Our reason for doing this is to understand which parts of the site are useful and which are confusing. We do not use it to profile or advertise to anyone.

Turning it off

• The script does nothing if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
• Or open praenox.com/?notrack once on your device. To switch it back on, open praenox.com/?dotrack.
• The same applies to the Aurum Horizon counter: with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or after opening horizon.praenox.com/?notrack (undo with ?dotrack), opening a sample sends no +1. Your choice is stored separately for each of the two sites, so make it on both if you want it on both.

Aurum Horizon (horizon.praenox.com)

Aurum Horizon is a report tool that runs entirely in your browser. The Aurum export ZIP you choose is read on your device and is never uploaded, and there is no account. Horizon does not use the visit statistics described above, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and sets no cookies.

It makes two kinds of requests:

• A public counter (“already tried simulation”). When you open one of the sample reports, one anonymous +1 request is sent to our counter on Cloudflare, once per browser tab session. It carries only which sample was opened, never your name, your data or any identifier, and only totals are kept. Loading the page asks the counter for the current number.
• GitHub, only if you download one of the sample ZIP files.

Like any website, the hosting and content delivery provider sees your IP address when your browser connects.

What the site stores in your browser

No cookies. A few small items are kept in your browser storage for the page to work:

• pn_notrack — only if you used the opt-out link above, so your choice is remembered
• praenox_dl_cache_v1 — a cached download counter, so the page does not ask GitHub on every visit
• pn_privacy_ok — remembers that you closed the privacy notice, so it is not shown again
• aurumPopSeen — remembers for this browser session that you already saw the welcome popup

On horizon.praenox.com:

• pn_notrack — only if you used the opt-out link above, so your choice is remembered
• praenox.sampleopen.* (session storage) — remembers for this tab that a sample was already counted, so it is not counted twice
• praenox.snapshots.v1.* — only if you choose to save a report snapshot; it stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and you can clear it by clearing site data

None of these identify you, and none are sent to a statistics service.

Other services your browser contacts

Like most websites, loading the page involves other companies, which can see your IP address when your browser contacts them. We do not control their logs:

• Google Fonts serves the page's typefaces.
• cdnjs (Cloudflare) serves the chart library.
• GitHub hosts the downloads, and the page asks GitHub for public download counts.
• Buy Me a Coffee handles purchases of license keys. Payment and email details go to them, not to this site. When you buy, we receive the information needed to send your key.
• YouTube is only contacted for video thumbnails, and for the video itself if you click through.
• Our hosting and content delivery providers process requests as part of delivering the site.

If you email us

If you write to us, or send a device request code for the Aurum demo, we use your email address and message only to reply and to issue your license or demo key.

The apps

This page covers the website only. Praenox Aurum and Shift are described on the site as working offline, with your data kept on your device. Each app's page and FAQ explain how it handles your data.

Your rights

Because the visit statistics are anonymous, we cannot tell which visit is yours, so there is nothing to look up or delete about you. For anything else, such as emails you sent us, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top will change. Praenox is a sound and wellness tool, not a medical device.
